Our first stop was Green Bar, a cute, cozy and tucked away gem. It might be a little hard to find, but the amazing food makes this place unmissable. The business was started in 2014 by half Filipino sisters, Jade and Sarada Santos. The two were raised vegetarian and share a love of bringing these mouth watering vegan creations to life in their kitchen. Most of the ingredients are made in house, including all the yummy dressings and their plant based meats! What started as a delivery service has now grown into the sweetest little vegan cafe in downtown Makati.Read More
No one ever likes to feel left out. Especially in social settings, and even more especially when it comes to food. I’ve been a picky eater my whole life, but becoming vegan has propelled that to a whole new level. There’s nothing worse than being invited to a dinner with friends, arriving and realizing there’s only one or two dishes (if I’m lucky) on the menu that I can eat. I truly enjoy going out for a nice meal with friends, even if we all don’t share the same diets. During our trip to Bali, we did our research to find the best restaurants that cater to everyone from vegans to gluten free to meat eaters, so that no one is disappointed on your next vacation to this beautiful island in Indonesia.Read More
We wanted to spend our full moon honoring our time in Bali together, something not only relaxing and rejuvenating, but also culturally rich. After having a beautiful Sunday Brunch at Ji Restaurant in Canggu a few weeks prior, we took a walk through the Tugu Hotel right next door and were blown away by the beautiful Indonesian art and antiques. History and culture is interwoven with all that Tugu Hotels offer, and we thought this would be the perfect spa to visit on our last full moon in Bali.Read More
During our travels, from one country to the next, it had become glaringly obvious that plastic products are imposing a huge problem on our Earth and severely damaging our ecosystems. You cannot drive down the road, walk down a beach or snorkel in the ocean without seeing plastic.
From big plastic bottles, to candy wrappers, to straws, to the tiny little bits shimmering in the ocean.. plastic is everywhere. We are very blessed to work with some amazing people and companies who are doing their part to help the planet and their local communities.
Green Garden and Yoga Bliss are one of those great companies, and we were excited to stop in for a visit during our trip to Nusa Lembongan.Read More
Before heading to Ubud, we were told, “you HAVE to try Sage” more than a handful of times, so we were very excited for our lunch at this popular plant based restaurant, and even more excited to sit down with the owner to chat about how it all began, life in Bali and what’s next for the restaurant known for its vibrant vegan cuisine.
Sage is a charming and cozy restaurant located on Jalan Nyuh Bulan. Open for 3 years now, they’ve become a staple in the Ubud vegan community, one of those places that keeps you coming back again and again.
The tastes of Thailand are what I long for most, after having spent a month in the beautiful country earlier this summer. I loved how easily accessible it was to find delicious vegan and vegetarian fare no matter where I was. What a gift and a surprise to find the flavors of northern Thailand on the shores of the Philippines, in the little town of El Nido.
Big Bad Thai Bistro and Bar is a collaboration brought to life by a man named Nelly from Serbia and his beautiful fiancé Apple from the mountains of northern Thailand.Read More
We were coming off an amazing couple of days exploring Nusa Pedina. The island was one of the most beautiful we’d ever seen, and we spent long days driving on crazy dirt roads, climbing down cliff sides to deserted beaches and spending one afternoon searching for the drone after it crashed into a mountain. Needless to say, we were exhausted and our diet had been consisting of mainly authentic Indonesian dishes, so tons of rice and noodles, and we were craving something FRESH. Daydreaming of smoothies, juices, maybe even a salad or some simple sautéed vegetables.. little did we know, our dreams were about to come true. Ginger and JamuRead More
